Dionysus, or Dionysos, is the Greek god of wine and theatre. It is important for you to know the myths surrounding Dionysus, as he is the central character of the show. Dionysus is also known as the god of mad frenzy, reincarnation. and homosexuality. For the purposes of this show, its is his association with theatre and reincarnation we are interested in. The entire show revolves around Dionysus' quest to bring Euripides back to life. According to Oxford Reference Online, Dionysus is the "Greek god of wine and fertility, identified with the Roman god Bacchus. The son of Zeus and Semele."
